I don't know if you've been paying attention, but there's a lot of excitement about how you can use your compelling story to get more customers.
Personally, I think it's great that more business owners are attracted by the principle that history + business = impact, and I think it's a beautiful thing to be there when the magic happens.
But as more and more business owners ask themselves, "Hey, can my story really get me a customer? I want to draw your attention for a moment to the other side of the story that's drawing your attention: you.
That's right, it's you. (Well, I suppose you already knew that).
The only way to know if your story is getting your client's attention is to touch that part of your story and feel real, true, and vulnerable (yes, I love the word "vulnerable" and yes, it's too used!).
I call it getting in touch with raw emotional energy. This first contact excites you physically and mentally. We are eager to start the process and we remain committed to this energy because this energy also keeps us committed to it.
And when you are clear, you feel empowered. With power, you are unstoppable! Does it make sense?
This is a time of change when people don't want to be mediocre leaders and work with a "survival of the fittest" mentality. They also want to stay in the path of their history and they expect it to continue giving them power, just like you.
Consider these tips:
1. Being generous. Telling and sharing stories is a very generous act. Gratitude helps to deepen this process.
2. Be a detective - be willing to articulate the emotional stimuli of your story: why do you want to tell it so much? (Please don't dig too deep, as I may not be able to share it!)
3. Put up with the discomfort and confusion your story brings. Know that the more you are willing to sit down with these feelings, the more they will calm down, and eventually, the "stronger" part will come.
4. Steps away from the result - they just get in the way. (Simply put, right?)
5. Be NOW silent and quiet - so that you can hear your story with your heart.
6. Practice courage - it takes a lot of courage to express your story, especially a story about which you have been silent for years. So be patient. (See tip 3.)
7. persistence - it takes the sweet gift of time to make your story emotionally clear. Reflection, journalism, rambling - use powerful storytelling techniques to stay clear.
8. Be yourself - tell your story from the heart Don't worry if your story doesn't please everyone. This also means sharing your story (scary!) and all its imperfections. (Yes, I know. Another point is easier said than done!)
9. Trust in the process of clearing your story to wander, tell the story emotionally, share the story, and allow the universe to take care of all the details. When you can't trust, you end up getting in the way of the universe. The universe will always stand in your way. It may not be the rhythm or the vision of the result the way you want it to, but it is life.
10. have fun with creativity - Narration is not reserved for the creative elite, everyone has access to creativity at any time. Be willing to engage in the very act of self-expression and the more you are willing to take creative risks with your story, the more you will be able to appeal to your client's senses.
Congratulations on getting this far.
